How much does it cost to serve as a short-term missionary?
Trip costs vary depending on the Village, length of stay, housing, and other factors. A typical two-week trip costs about $3500 per person. This covers:
· Training from the Rafiki Home Office staff
· Administrative fees for Home Office and Village support
· Passport/visa expenses
· Medical evacuation insurance (if needed)
· Immunizations
· Airline travel and in-country accommodations (housing, meals, airport transport)
What tasks might I do while at a Rafiki Village?
Short-term missionaries are asked to serve wherever the need is greatest. Tasks may include:
· Assisting with Bible study or school classes
· Helping in the dining hall, laundry, or kitchens
· Gardening, groundskeeping, or light construction
· Maintaining guesthouses and facilities
· Teaching a class or assisting the Rafiki mothers
· Organizing school materials or libraries
