God's Word at Work
“Rafiki” means friend in Swahili—capturing the heart of our mission: to help people know God and improve their quality of life through his truth.
The vision of the Rafiki Foundation is to cultivate a multitude of godly contributors across ten African countries.
To carry out this vision, Rafiki has established Training Villages in Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia. Each Village provides living and learning spaces where six key programs come to life: Bible Study, Education, Teacher Training, Orphan Care, Outreach, and Widows.
Rafiki’s strategy is simple, yet powerful:
- Care for and educate orphans and disadvantaged children
- Equip church schools with classical Christian curriculum and teacher training
- Provide Bible study materials to the African church
- Support widows through meaningful work and community
Through these efforts, we aim to raise up thousands of Africans who know God, walk in wisdom, and serve others with excellence.

Used across our Villages and now expanding to thousands of schools in Africa and the U.S., this biblically grounded program is equipping the next generation with truth that endures.

Widows Program
At the Rafiki Exchange, we partner with widows and single women across ten African countries, providing meaningful work and the hope of Christ. Through creating beautiful handmade products and studying the Bible together, these women are equipped with dignity, purpose, and lasting truth.
Through partnerships with 26 African church denominations, Rafiki is equipping pastors, congregations, students, and teachers with God’s Word. Along with the Rafiki Bible Study, they receive training to faithfully teach and apply Scripture in their churches, schools, and communities.
