Kropf April 2023

“The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me; Your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of Your hands” (Psalm 138:8).

This year has been off to a good start as we have seen much evidence of the Lord’s faithfulness in our lives. Del had a successful kidney transplant at the end of January. We went to Northwestern Hospital in Chicago, Illinois for over a month for the surgery and recuperation. We are thanking God for so many people who were praying us through that time. We are truly blessed! Since then, Del has been busy flying back and forth from Florida to Chicago for bimonthly checkups and now monthly. My sister Deb was a perfect match and was able to donate her kidney to Del! We are amazed at how God provided for us all in so many ways! She has recovered fully and went through the process with no complications. We are so thankful!

Here at Rafiki Foundation we have been blessed with the opportunity to continue serving. Del has begun some part-time work helping with purchasing and maintenance. His past purchasing experience has helped him jump right into this role. Rafiki sends around 20 containers each year to their 10 different Villages throughout Africa. These containers are filled with Bibles, Rafiki Sunday School studies, supplies for the Villages, and school curriculum. Recently Del has been purchasing supplies to go out on an upcoming container to Malawi. He has also been a part of the planning for a new school Rafiki is starting this upcoming fall, Rafiki Classical Academy. This will be a K-3rd grade school which will be here on the Rafiki Foundation Home Office campus and will be using the same Rafiki classical curriculum that is used in Africa.

Lisa has been busy helping coordinate the child sponsorship of orphans and day students for the 10 Villages in Africa. Recently she has been helping get the first quarter sponsor reports ready to be sent out to all the sponsors. Each quarter the children fill out a handwritten report with prayer requests updating their sponsors on how they are doing. These reports come in and need proofing and editing to prepare them to go out. She also takes phone calls from sponsors and writes letters updating them on the children they sponsor. She enjoys being a part of helping these children know God and improve their standard of living. Rafiki Foundation provides support for 3,200 orphans and day students.
