Marty and Jeanette Sanders

Marty and Jeanette (Jan) are raising support to join the team at The Rafiki Village in Ethiopia, with the desire to be in country by November 2025.

Marty and Jan learned of the ministry in the Fall of 2024, and God drew them to the biblically anchored and disciple-making focus of the mission. Since they had a shared desire to spend this season of their lives working together for the gospel, united in purpose, after discovering that each had skills that the ministry needed, Marty and Jan decided to apply for service with the mission.

Marty brings administrative skills developed through years of experience working in nonprofits which serve communities experiencing poverty. He has also served in pastoral roles and enjoys teaching the Bible. Jan has a degree in Elementary Education, and experience in varied educational and childcare settings, working with children of all ages. Her area of special focus has been tutoring children with learning challenges, especially in the areas of reading and spelling. Jan also dabbles in and enjoys art, music, photography, and agricultural pursuits.

“The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God” (Philippians. 4:6).

Daily prayer needs:

• Pray for refreshing worship with fellow believers and physical rest.
• As each new school week begins, pray that we can show the same love, grace, and kindness to our staff and students that God shows us each day.
• Pray for wisdom to manage the daily challenges we encounter, and courage to do what is right.
• Pray for new missionaries to be called and sent to the work that God has given Rafiki to do.
• Pray for a spirit of unity and cooperation among the missionary team and the national staff.
• Pray for God’s provision to supply material and spiritual needs.
• Pray that we will learn to understand and appreciate the beautiful culture of our African friends.
