“For Ezra had set his heart to study the Law of the Lord, and to do it and to teach his statutes and rules in Israel” (Ezra 7:10).
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
This past week as we studied the book of Ezra, we were challenged by his three-fold goal as stated in Ezra 7:10. It is wonderful to see that through the use of the Rafiki Bible Study, as people study God’s Word, they are transformed by the Holy Spirit to obey Him, and then are led to teach it to others.
In July, Rafiki Missionary Anica Pederson was transferred to our Village. Anica has taken over the day-to-day running of the Teacher’s College. Christie transferred to the school and became the Headmaster of the Early Childhood and Primary divisions. She oversees the operation of the school, which includes observing and training the teachers. She creates the schedules for teachers, monitors student performance, and meets with students regarding their behavior. On Fridays, students go home after lunch, and in-service training is held. It is an opportunity to teach content, school procedures, classroom management skills, and classical education to the teachers. This is very important because many of our teachers did not attend the Teachers’ College. She also has the privilege of leading the Rafiki Bible Study with them. Please pray that our teachers will be faithful to study the Rafiki Curriculum diligently and teach it correctly.

Peter completed his missionary training and was commissioned on August 2. He has several roles. First, he has the privilege of leading Rafiki Bible Study with the security guards and national staff. Second, he is responsible for the petty cash transactions and financial statements. In this role he also checks to make sure that transactions are reasonable and investigates the costs of items. Third, he teaches a couple of classes at our Teacher’s College. Finally, he is our Outreach Coordinator. He works with people who are interested in buying the Rafiki Curriculum to use in their schools and also with those who would like to buy the Sunday school materials. This involves overseeing training for those who purchase the materials and also visitation to make sure that the materials are being utilized as they should be. Currently, there are seven schools using the Rafiki Curriculum. We conducted training for church partner schools in September and then visited two of the schools in November to check on their progress. What a wonderful opportunity Rafiki has for impacting countless numbers of individuals through the sale of their curriculum and Bible study materials. Pray that more schools and churches would buy Rafiki’s materials so that more people are impacted educationally and spiritually .

Outreach School Visit
We continue to work on the accreditation for our Teacher’s College and are looking forward to a visit from the National Commission of Higher Education late in December. Please pray that we will be accredited for a bachelor’s degree . Two years ago we received accreditation for the Associates Degree and will hold our second graduation ceremony early in January for fourteen students who have completed their course of study.
Thank you for your prayers and financial support of us and for this mission to Liberia at the Rafiki Village.
