Restmary
Restmary’s husband passed away just nine months after their wedding, leaving her eight months pregnant. Yet through her tears, God began shaping a ministry. Trained in tailoring by her father and later by another seamstress, Restmary used her hands and her heart to train other widows. What began as a few women learning to sew is now a fellowship marked by prayer, worship, and mutual care.
When Restmary prayed for a small workshop where the women could work together, God had something bigger in mind. The builder made the structure much larger than she asked, stating, “I am building a church.” Restmary smiles and says, “The mistake was for God’s purpose.” The space indeed became both a workshop and a church, where widows create, the community gathers, and all grow in faith together.
Through Rafiki’s support and Restmary’s discipleship, these women have learned not only how to earn an income but how to trust God and serve one another. Out of their own limited means, they continually support fellow widows who are unable to work due to illness. Their compassion reflects the love and example Restmary has modeled for them. Her life weaves together faith, service, and hope—threads that continue to strengthen the hearts and hands of those she disciples.
