Nealey June 2026
Last time I connected with you I was pleased to introduce to you our new Rafiki Teachers College (RICE) cohort. They started at the beginning of February, and now we are into the month of June. So many wonderful things have happened since then. It was very exciting to meet so many students who seemed ready and eager to learn, and they did not disappoint. They have completed the first semester. I am pleased to inform you that our scholarship students are passionate about their education. It shows in their work and in their attitudes. As you know our mission is to train primary school teachers who are centered in Christ. Our goal is to prepare our students to teach and lead with biblical fidelity, personal humility, intellectual curiosity, and moral integrity. I can testify to you that our students exemplify these behaviors. I have every confidence that as teachers they will teach their students what is true, good, and beautiful as they instill in them the core values of Christianity. I want you to get to know them too, because it is your prayers and donations that we can do this work. Therefore, in the months ahead I will feature one or two of our students. I know you will love them as much as we do. I am pleased to present to you, Martha.
Martha
Martha’s aspiration is a reflection of her love for Christ. Guided by the Rafiki Bible Study, her faith, and a desire to learn deeply, she has developed a heart for shaping young minds through classical education. She dreams of teaching students to think critically, speak clearly, and build a personal relationship with God, enabling them to grow spiritually, morally, and academically. Her desire is for her students to love learning, pursue excellence, and discover the purpose God has placed within them. Martha exemplifies how God shapes individuals to inspire the next generation to impact their communities for His glory.
It only takes $300.00 per semester for a student to graduate with a diploma. That is a grand total of $1500.00. This funds all five semesters to prepare one student to teach in an elementary school. To receive a bachelor’s degree in the same field takes $400.00 per semester or $3200.00 total for the four-year program. Only one scholarship student is in the bachelor’s program. All scholarship recipients expressed a desire to upgrade to a bachelor’s degree. They have already completed the first semester, so time is running out for them to apply for the bachelor’s program. Rafiki hopes for funds to make that possible. They will be ineligible to join once the second semester starts in September. We also plan another intake of students in September, so please be prayerful that we will be able to add a new cohort at that time.
