“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ” (Colossians 3:23-24 ).
As our schools and Rafiki Teachers College cohorts resumed classes, we had started off the term with a day of prayer, asking that God would help and provide for us, both inside the Rafiki campus and for our friends and neighbors all around. It was a joy to have our students and staff all join for a time of hymns, thanksgiving, and intercession as we look forward to the work God is continuing to do in Malawi through our excellent staff and bright students.
Day of Prayer
We rejoice that God allowed us to host another partner school teacher training week, also known as CORE, which stands for Classical Orientation to Rafiki Education! This one involved teachers and schools from all three regions of Malawi, and we had fifteen graduates from the teacher training who are taking back the Rafiki Curriculum and classical teaching methods to their students and fellow teachers. Our Outreach Program also distributed the first of our Global Pastors Book Sets, graciously provided by Crossway, to men who’ve completed certificate and diploma programs in theology and biblical studies, and who are continuing their studies as aspiring pastors. God also sent us visitors from the U.S.A.—Dr. Bryant and Rhonda Owens—who stayed with us and assisted in the Rafiki Teachers College and schools, in addition to being a source of refreshment and encouragement for our missionary team.

In addition to training others, some of our own staff received training from an organization in southern Malawi. Our agriculture staff learned how to raise black soldier fly larvae, which are a key component to us making our own chicken feed, meaning we could supply our own meat from within the Village! That one change would save us thousands of dollars every year in food costs and compost costs, and the same chickens would supply an affordable protein source for our employees to purchase below market rate while reimbursing all our costs to raise them. Please join us in praying that we will quickly get into a good rhythm of manufacturing our own animal feed using what’s already available within our gates, as this will be a tremendous help to Rafiki and an example for all our neighbors.
Thank you for remembering us in your prayers and supporting us financially, so that we can continue in this work. As we are still in need of additional funding to meet our support needs, we ask you to consider sharing these newsletters with your friends and family, especially those who may be interested in supporting or praying for missionaries through churches and Bible study groups. If your church or study group would be interested in having us come and share more about all that God is doing through Rafiki in Malawi, please reach out to Rafiki so that we can plan to do so when we are in the U.S.A. during March and April of 2027. We would love to meet with you and share many more stories of God’s work.
