Okoth November 2023

We are always delighted and filled with joy and thanksgiving when we stop to reflect on God’s perfect provisions throughout the year. He has provided opportunities for us to grow in knowledge and understanding of who He is. This year through the Rafiki Bible Study we studied Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, and we are finishing the year with Judges. Students, teachers, and staff members have all read, discussed, rejoiced, and wrestled with God’s truths. The Lord has given us grace as we have faithfully sought to teach and facilitate Bible studies for His glory.

In His perfect provision, the Lord has provided us with wisdom and much discernment. In our new roles here in Uganda, we learned on the job. Many times it felt as if we were being stretched beyond our capacity and yet by the Lord’s grace we were able to make decisions that have borne fruit. We see great improvement in the teachers at our outreach schools and in their eagerness to grow as classical Christian educators. We also see our Rafiki teachers growing in their faithfulness to discipline students biblically, seeking to transform the heart of a student, not just outward behavior.

God continues to provide for us in marriage, growing two people in love, humility, patience, and gentleness. Teaching us how to rely on Him, to communicate biblically, and imitate Him. He has provided us with community in the local church and provided opportunities for us to attend weekly Bible studies. Paul also preached his first sermon this past month. We were so humbled by God’s provision for us. The grace, wisdom, insight, and courage He blessed Paul with was a wonderful display of God’s faithfulness to His people. We are so thankful for the spiritual maturity and growth in our marriage.

Finally we are so thankful for the financial provisions that the Lord continues to allow for us, that we may serve Him. He continues to raise up supporters to partner with us and give faithfully and generously. This year, the Lord provided us with access to an immigration attorney here in Uganda. By God’s grace, we are petitioning for Paul to have the opportunity to visit the U.S.A., meet family and supporters, and attend Rafiki’s annual Enrichment event for missionaries. Health concerns of family continue to grow and we would love to be able to travel back to the States and care for them when the time arises. Therefore, we would appreciate continued prayer and support as we undergo this long immigration process. The Lord is faithful and we trust that He will continue to provide.
