Okoth May 2025
Indeed, we have tasted the goodness of the Lord in this season. 2025 marked the arrival of our baby girl, Anaiah Alice Okoth on January 17. Anaiah means God has answered, and truly he has heard our prayers. Anaiah came a few weeks early and has been blessed with health and a good appetite. She is full of energy and wonder about the world. We are amazed by God’s handiwork each day with her. We have grown in love as a family beyond what we understood prior to the birth of our first child and we are sure the Lord will continue to teach and train us in love for years to come. Please pray with us as we grow in parental care and love for Anaiah.

Amber has been on maternity leave since baby’s arrival. The Lord raised up the head teachers to lead the school well in her absence with the help of Kathy Johnson, a short-term missionary who has been traveling and serving with Rafiki for years. Interestingly enough, when Amber was preparing to go to the field in service to Rafiki, Kathy led a Rafiki Prayer Group in Delaware, and invited Amber to her house to pray for her and help prepare her heart for the work. Now five years later, the Lord would use Kathy to help Amber by serving as the substitute Headmaster in her absence. It was a sweet time having Kathy serve and continue the work with the teachers. The teachers were edified and encouraged by Kathy during her time here. She really helped get the school off to a great start in the 2025 school year.

Paul’s heart has tripled in size since the birth of our little one. He continues to work with the Plant Maintenance and Grounds (PMG) staff, facilitating the projects and maintenance of the Village. His work with the many schools of Africa Outreach continues to bear fruit with more schools requesting our curriculum. Paul is developing various follow up trainings for school administration and teachers with the help of the Rafiki teaching staff. The relationships he is developing in the community continue to promote Gods work.
He has also had the opportunity to lead Bible study with the Village staff, which he loves doing. Paul loves teaching God’s Word for Rafiki. In the local church, he is teaching and doing some preaching. He is very passionate about teaching the Word, and it is the main purpose in all his Outreach trainings. Sharing the gospel and leaning on God’s Word to transform the way administrators and teachers implement classical Christian curriculum in their schools.

- An increase in supporters for 2025 as our expenses have increased with the addition of baby Anaiah.
- For Paul as he considers schools to get a Bachelor’s degree.

- For Amber as she considers what it looks like to be a wife and mother and how it impacts service with Rafiki.
- The head teachers of Rafiki Schools and Outreach Schools, that they would grow in knowledge of God, knowledge of the curriculum, and be faithful to do the Rafiki Bible Study in their schools with through teachers and students.
