McKeighen Dec 2017

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth (John 1:14).

Dear friends and family,

As we begin this month of celebrating the birth of the Christ child, in a world that seems to have fallen into an abyss of chaos, where daily we hear confused distortions of truth, where our moral compass has been exchanged for a worldly intellectualism, it is imperative that we look back to the rock from which you were hewn (Isaiah 51:1) and remember to stand on the solid ground of the Word of God. John says it so well. In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God (John 1:1). John tells us that the Word is Jesus. Jesus Himself, took time even after His resurrection to explain beginning with Moses and with all the prophets… in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.” (Luke 24:27) This Jesus whose birth we celebrate is the Savior the world needs today. We know Him. We must share Him.

This season all over the world there will be manger scenes, Christmas pageants, choral performances, and so much more, all proclaiming the wonderful story of the birth of our Savior. The world cannot stop it! It must be. It will happen. In every state, on every continent, in Europe, in Asia, in Africa. It is unstoppable because it is truth. As long as there is breath in man there will be a proclamation of His Creator and Savior.

This year in Ghana at the Rafiki Village, we too will remember and proclaim this story through drama. Our primary students have been practicing and singing. Some of us have been creating costumes. We are excited and we are ready to do our part.

As you celebrate Christmas this year, be sure to take time to remember, to worship, and to give glory to God in the Highest rejoicing that you are a part of a world-wide unstoppable celebration. Thank you for helping me be a part of this celebration in Africa through your prayers and support.

May God bless you and give you a very Merry Christmas.
