Why we are thankful:

A year and a half ago we started improving the school football pitch. One corner of the field was eight feet lower than the rest of the field, so it took a bulldozer, lots of wheelbarrows, picks, and shovels to make it level. One benefit of doing the bulk of the work in-house were resident teens. The boys learned how to use a surveying transit. After the field was leveled and dirt clods broken up, an irrigation system was installed, and topsoil was bought to cover it all up. Widows from the local community were hired to plant grass. Today, Physical Education classes are putting the football pitch to good use.

Many of our high school alumni returned for a day of fellowship and football. It gave our youngest residents a chance to chat with the alumni about the transition to college and/or work. This was so well attended and appreciated by all that we will try to do it often!

Pray for Rafiki Village in Nigeria

• Funds to do needed maintenance at the Rafiki Village in Nigeria.
• Continued support and wisdom for the children graduating from high school and going off to post high school education. We will have almost fifty children in Nigeria in or quickly approaching tertiary education (college).
• Pray for accreditation of the Rafiki Institute of Classical Christian Education (Teacher Training Program) in Nigeria.
• Pray for more day student sponsors for needy children living in our community who cannot afford to attend school now.
• Pray for funds to buy a tractor for the Rafiki Village in Nigeria

Please pray for Rafiki as a whole:

• All 250 Rafiki Day Students to have sponsors and be fully funded soon.
• For generous giving to the Africa Expansion Campaign. Rafiki is entering a season of exponential growth. We anticipate the thousands that Rafiki is currently ministering to across our 10 countries will turn to tens of thousands. To meet these new opportunities, we are asking God for a 25% increase over Rafiki’s current annual budget which could increase Rafiki’s impact 10-fold.

God answered prayers:

• We are adding a group to our Widows Program in Nigeria—lots of new African fabric products. All of these women will be using the Rafiki Bible Study.
• The primary school football pitch is ready for use.
• Rafiki Home Office visited Nigeria and gave solutions, suggestions, and ideas.
