“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).
Election
Sometimes Nigeria experiences violent outbreaks before, during, and after elections. Because of this, we are having a school break during the presidential and gubernatorial elections. Our pre-K-12 school has just over 300 students (ninety-six under six years of age) and we did not want to risk having children in school amid possible violence. Our seventy-seven Rafiki resident orphan children and fifteen university students are in local villages with extended family.
Thankfulness:
• Thank God for mostly peaceful elections.
• We have a new Rafiki School Academic Dean, Shakiyla Solomon. She is visiting classrooms and conducting teacher in-services.
• The opportunity to visit family in Texas during Easter!
• We thank God for His grace, peace, and presence with us as we work.
• A recent visit from our Rafiki Home Office brought encouragement, helpful direction, and insight for improvement.
Prayer Requests—Please pray for:
• Peace in Nigeria as elections conclude.
• Calm hearts and safety for our children.
• Our children to make wise decisions.
• Our children to love God’s Word.
• Teachers to embrace Christian classical education techniques.
Serving with you in Jos Nigeria.
