“Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it” (1 Corinthians 12:27).
We’re closing in on the end of our first year here in Kenya, and are marveling at God’s grace and provision for us over this past year! The Village is beautiful and so are the children. We enjoy working with our new teammates, and God has provided new teachers for the schools just as they were needed.

What do a flutist, a nurse, a kindergarten teacher, a physical therapist, and three university students have in common? They all left their somewhat comfortable lives in the U.S. for a few weeks, came to our Village, rolled up their sleeves, and helped us take care of some of the ninety resident children and 161 day-students. They read to, played with, and befriended these precious little ones, as well as shared in some of the “behind the scenes” work needed to run a Village. They taught music lessons and piano lessons, tutored mathematics and reading, coached on some of the finer skills of basketball, and just “got down to their level” and played with them—all the while sharing the love of Christ.

Maybe you’ve been wanting to do something similar, or feel God’s gentle nudging to get involved in short-term missions work. We encourage you to fight that natural inertia to “do nothing”. Please, go ahead and contact our Home Office and enquire about serving in one of our ten Villages for a few weeks—you won’t regret it. And the benefits are eternal!

Can you find Paul
Can you find Paul among the teachers?
Recitation
On the last day of every school term we invite the parents to come and see their children display some of what they’d been learning at our schools. On stage the students sing, dance, recite famous quotations and poetry, and teach the audience about history, science, math and English. On August 3rd we had 117 adults come to our Recitation. I was happy to hear that some of those visitors were not parents of our students, but had heard about our schools and wanted to see for themselves what focusing on that which is good, true, and beautiful (i.e., classical Christian education) is all about. I don’t think they were disappointed, for we have been receiving many applications for places in our schools. God is good!

Thank you for being a part of this ministry, and for sharing your support and your prayers in our efforts to “shine a light in a dark place”! It means more to us than we could possibly tell you! Maybe you will consider sharing some of your talent as well, and sign up for a “Mini”Missionary adventure. We encourage you to prayerfully think it over. It may turn out to be the best thing you ever did.

”Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain” (1 Corinthians 15:58).
