Grass August 2018

Grass August 2018

I am truly humbled and amazed at the tremendous blessings the Lord has poured over me the past few months. On July 20, 2018, I was commissioned for missionary service with The Rafiki Foundation. I am excited to report that I will be serving the Lord with my fellow missionary team in the beautiful country of Malawi. I will be the Dean of the RICE (Rafiki Institute of Classical Education) Rafiki Teachers College Program at the Rafiki Village Malawi. While serving as Dean, I will have the privilege of helping Malawians pursue their God-given desires to become Christian educators. I will also get to lead the students in the Rafiki Bible Study each morning. For years I have wanted to play a part in bringing change to the African education system for God’s glory. I stand in awe of the Lord’s goodness. He has entrusted me to lead a learning institute that will equip the future educators of Africa to teach about His world to the next generation. It brings me great joy to think of how the Lord will bless this ministry for years to come! I will also have the opportunity to serve as the Village Music Coordinator. In this role I will be able to do a variety of things to help children grow in their musical gifts for God’s glory.

As I have been preparing for missionary service, James 1:17 has been close to my heart: “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” What a precious gift the Lord has given me, by allowing me to serve Him in such a unique and marvelous way.

I have been overwhelmed by the encouragement I have received from friends and family through prayer and financial support. I am praying the Lord will continue to provide for the remainder of my financial needs and that He will ready my heart for His service in Malawi. I appreciate your prayers as I adjust to life in a new culture. My plane takes off on August 11, and I cannot wait to begin the adventure that lies ahead.
