Girum Jiru and Tigist Jima Feb 2020

Warm greetings to you in the blessed name of our Savior, Jesus Christ!

Our God has done great things for our family and His sustained love, grace, and guidance has been with us during the past three months. In our third newsletter, we would like to provide you a few updates about our preparation for the upcoming mission assignment in Ethiopia.

I am learning more about classical Christian education, and it is an interesting journey full of learning curves. I was able to visit Trininty Classical Academy in Santa Clarita, California and they shared from their experience how they run their school, implement their curriculum, and see the overall school activity. It is exciting to learn that this kind of curriculum is available for kids in Ethiopia.

School registration for Rebecca and Josh at Bingham Academy is submitted together with all necessary documents. Their passports are renewed and recommendations from their current schools have been received. We are hoping to hear their acceptance from Bingham soon.

Our house is off the market beginning this month. We are prayerfully considering various options and hope for clarity on how to proceed soon. We appreciate your prayers in this area.

We are excited to report to you that our mission fund more than doubled compared to where it was three months ago. We were at twenty percent of the funds needed for the mission, and now we are at fifty-one percent. We now have two church partners from the Los Angeles area who partnered with us. Their support and prayers are a great encouragement. Moreover, it is exciting to see that our family and close friends are also stepping up in contributing to the mission fund.

We have a few prayer needs:

We are currently at fifty-one percent of funds needed for the mission task, and we would like to see it rise to the amount needed for the task in time for our departure.

• We are seeking the Lord’s guidance for our house to sell so we do not have to worry about mortgages while we are on the field.

• Please pray for peace in Ethiopia, as religious conflicts, ethnic violence, and the locust invasion are making the news these days.

Pray for the upcoming election in Ethiopia, which is set for August 29, 2020.

• Please pray for the successful launch of the RICE Program in Ethiopia.

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:19-20).

Thank you for standing with us in preparing young Ethiopians for the Gospel.
