Eagleman Mar 2018

Dear family, friends, and supporters,

So far, 2018 is off to a pretty good start:

We will be expecting our first child in June. Checked off an item on our bucket list—meet a President. We had a peaceful transition of power to the new president of Liberia.

It has been a wonderful season for Jeremy and me. It has also been fun to share our exciting baby news with our friends and family as well as our Rafiki family. Jeremy and I feel so blessed and loved by an incredible foundation of support as we enter into this next stage of life called parenthood. We already love the sixty-seven children at Rafiki and we are happy to add one more to the mix. Our tentative plan is to come to the States for the arrival of our son. We return to Liberia hopefully by August, so he can meet all of his new Rafiki aunties, uncles, and cousins.

Around the Village, Brittany has been working hard to connect with the extended families of the children at Rafiki, so that they can attend our visitation program in March. We have also been pairing children who have no extended families with good families to take them in as their own during the holidays and after they finish school. It is important for our children to build strong familial relationships to lead and guide them to know where they come from.

Most of my work as the ChildCare Administrator is working with our eleven incredible Rafiki Mothers. The more time, energy, and resources I put into these dedicated women, the more the children they care for will grow to be successful and know their Savior. My favorite moments during the week are Bible Study and Rafiki Mother Meetings.

Currently, our football (soccer) and kickball team are undefeated. Jeremy has been working with teams in our community to come together and enjoy friendly competitions against each other. Jeremy has also been working hard to keep Rafiki looking good.

It is incredible to look back on God’s faithfulness in the ways He connected all the dots to bring us to where we are today at Rafiki. We continue to be in awe of the ways He provides for our needs every day. Most days, we feel that we are not capable of doing the job that is ahead of us, but God always shows up to confirm that we are enough when we put our faith in Him.

Prayer Requests:

• Baby E—Pray that our child will continue to grow strong and healthy. Pray that every promise God has given His people will surround him as he grows. “For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour my Spirit upon your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants. They shall spring up among the grass like willows by flowing streams” (Isaiah 44:3).

• Help—We are always praying and seeking more help at the Village, whether for a short- or long-term mission trip. “Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few’ ” (Matthew 9:37).

• Endurance—Every day can present a new challenge. Pray with us that God gives us His strength to do His will. “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness” (James 1:2-3).

With Love
