Bronke February 2022

Then the Lord said to him, ‘Who has made man’s mouth? Who makes him mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth and teach what you shall speak ’” (Exodus 4:11-12).

Thank you for supporting and praying for me for almost a year and a half! I’d like to start this newsletter by informing you that I have recommitted as a Rafiki missionary and plan to spend one more year serving in Ghana .

If you have questions or would like to contact me about your support or hear more details about this decision, I would love to hear from you!

In December, I had the privilege of visiting friends and family in the United States. It was a joy to see some of you and worship with you. It was during this time that the Lord answered my prayers about whether I might come home or stay for another year. I thank God for the opportunity to continue serving with Rafiki and witnessing His faithfulness here.

Have you ever seen cuter faces?

Resident students making stars for Christmas

Before the Rafiki school broke for the Christmas holiday, we welcomed back our missionary headmaster, Melissa Weidemann. After a year of corresponding through Zoom, it has been a blessing to have her back in Ghana and to work for her in the school! Soon after her arrival, the school enjoyed its first post-pandemic recitation program. Pre-primary students sang Christmas hymns and recited Scripture verses the only way they know how: with enthusiasm and infectious little smiles! Please pray these children grow in the love and knowledge of the Lord.

The Village is currently studying Exodus in the Rafiki Bible Study. This past week, I enjoyed teaching the ninth and eleventh-grade students in Bible class about Moses’ encounter with God and the burning bush. We are so often like Moses first was when God called him to return to Egypt—we question our ability to obey because we rely on our own strength. I am thankful that God equips those He has called for ministry and calls us to rely on His power. What a privilege to study these truths together each day as a Village. Please pray that the daily Bible study sanctifies the hearts of every worker, teacher, missionary, and student who interacts with it each day.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support as I serve in Ghana for another year and a half!

If you would like to continue supporting me for another year, here is how you can:

  • Go to www.rafikifoundation.org.

  • Find my photo and enter the amount that you would like to give. (You can make a one-time donation or a recurring donation.) Thank you!

To donate by check:

Prayer Requests

  • Wisdom, strength, and joy for the missionaries serving here.
  • Both the Widows Program and RICE Program in Ghana to begin again.
  • The regeneration, salvation, and sanctification of each one of the Rafiki students.
  • More missionaries!
  • All 250 Rafiki Day Students to have sponsors and be fully funded soon.
  • For generous giving to the Africa Expansion Campaign. Rafiki is entering a season of exponential growth. We anticipate the thousands that Rafiki is currently ministering to across our 10 countries will turn to tens of thousands. To meet these new opportunities, we are asking God for a 25% increase over Rafiki’s current annual budget which could increase Rafiki’s impact 10-fold.

Note: Rafiki is now able to accept non-cash gifts such as real estate or estate bequests. Contact Rafiki@RafikiFoundation.org for more information.
