Aluvisia June 2022

This year has brought many changes for our family. The biggest change was the arrival of our son, Nathanael Faraji. He arrived in February and we have enjoyed getting to know him over the past few months. Rachel’s Mom was able to travel to be with us during the first two weeks and we were very thankful to have her here in Kenya.

Our second change is that Eric has now been officially commissioned as a missionary. He is working hard to help students choose classes in line with their desired careers as well as following up with our graduates and helping them adjust to life outside of Rafiki. On June 3, he organized a career day. It went well. Many professionals from different careers came and spoke with students from grade 7 to 12 about the professions. They shared different challenges and joys, as well as speaking about how it is being a Christian in these fields. Eric is hoping to hold another career day at the end of the year where universities come and share about the courses they offer.

A third change that has come this year is that Rachel is now taking a few students to an orchestra rehearsal in town on Saturdays. We drive together in the Village van and rehearse on Saturday afternoons. The students have really enjoyed the opportunity. They have a concert June 26 and they are very excited. They practice very hard every day in an effort to master their music.

As we write this letter, we are preparing to travel to Switzerland for the wedding of Rachel’s sister. Eric was able to get a visa and Faraji was able to get a passport. We are so thankful for the opportunity to travel as a family. It is an answered prayer. After Switzerland, Rachel will be traveling on to the U.S. with Faraji and Eric will be returning home. Rachel will be attending a time of enrichment at the Home Office before she takes two weeks to visit churches and supporters in the U.S. Feel free to reach out to her. She would love to meet up with as many people as possible while she is in country.

Thank you so much for all of your prayers and your continued support. It means so much to us and we could not do this without you. May God continue to sustain you and keep you in all grace.
