Dear friends and family

What a month it has been! I have attended the Rafiki Survival Training for long term missions and I have great news…I survived! Those two weeks of survival were amazing! The first week I and the other survivors served the VA’s (Village Administrators) during their meetings, processed ten thousand library books for all ten countries, and served during “Enrichment Week”—a conference with great teaching for the on-field missionaries to come and glean from excellent teaching and encouraging lectures. I was blessed to hear one or two sessions, but mostly I got to serve the missionaries and the speakers; which was awesome! 

At the end of the Survival Training, I got my assignment and location of service and was commissioned to go to Rwanda! It was like Christmas morning for me in some ways and very emotional in others. 

It is humbling and yet super exciting to think that I have an assignment for REAL! It’s not just an idea! I have been asked to go to Rwanda and serve as the Music and Art Coordinator and to run the Widows Program. To decode, I will be teaching in the Rafiki Christian Classical schools both music and art classes. I will also be involved outside the Village checking up on the widows, giving them product orders from the Home Office for the Rafiki Exchange Shop, and then getting their beautiful crafts sent to the Home Office.
