Malawi Village

Malawi Village

With a population of a little more than 17 million, Malawi is one of the more densely peopled countries of southeast Africa. It is a landlocked nation, however, Lake Malawi, the “Lake of Stars,” dominates the geography stretching some 300 miles along Malawi’s eastern border.

Physically the largest of the Rafiki’s Villages, the Rafiki Training Village Malawi is situated on the hilltop of seventy-three acres in northern Malawi. The largest nearby city is Mzuzu which is approximately two hundred fifty miles north of the nation’s capital of Lilongwe. The Village opened in August of 2005. To date, twenty-eight buildings have been constructed to house the educational and residential facilities of children and staff.
