Vicky and Mike Koch

Serving In: Rwanda
External ID: 153

Vicky and Mike Koch have been serving with the Rafiki Foundation for seventeen years. They first began their work in Malawi in July, 2002 where they were instrumental in the construction of the Rafiki Village Malawi. They then served in Zambia from January, 2006 through June, 2010 before joining the Rafiki Village Rwanda in July of 2010. Currently, Mike is the Village Administrator and Plant Manager, and he also takes care of Village finances. Vicky is the Village Headmaster and Music Teacher.

In their time on the field, the Koches say that God has richly blessed them and taught them many things. They enjoy a life with fewer material possessions. The couple has seen God’s people joyfully share their limited resources because the Lord provides. They have also learned that life is precious, that Christ's church is varied and beautiful, and that God alone makes Rafiki's efforts fruitful on the African continent.

When asked why they chose to serve with Rafiki, they said they were “called by God through his special messenger." Rosemary Jensen, the Rafiki Foundation founder, sent them a yearly letter for a time, encouraging them to enter the mission field.

The couple was married on the 30th of December, 1972. Vicky and Mike Koch are thankful to the Lord for allowing them to serve with the Rafiki Foundation in the beautiful Rwanda.

“To the King of ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen” (1 Timothy 1:17).
