Joshua
Joshua
Joshua’s mother died in 2002, and his father died two years later. Joshua lived with his elderly, impoverished grandmother for a time, but though she tried, she could not properly care for him along with the seven other children she looked after. She sought help to raise Joshua, and he arrived at the Rafiki Village Nigeria in 2005. Joshua enjoyed school and often repeated the teacher’s words to himself to remember his lessons. When new Rafiki children arrived at the Village, Joshua would greet them with a warm, welcoming smile. He is now a graduate of the Rafiki School and studies education at a seminary where his favorite class is Greek. He actively encourages others in their faith and seeks to develop God-honoring relationships with his classmates. Joshua prays that he will become more Christlike each day, love others more, and continue to be an encouragement to them. He is thankful for his sponsors who give him this opportunity to attend seminary.
