For a child in Africa, attending school means more than ABCs and 123s; it can be lifesaving. When a child in Africa cannot be in school, he or she is exposed to a myriad of risks and degradations: sexual exploitation, teenage pregnancy, alcohol and drug abuse, child soldier recruitment, child marriage, and hunger, to name a few.
Children attending Rafiki schools are not only preserved from such horrors, but they get off the street and onto a path of flourishing—mentally, physically, and spiritually.
Isaac’s mother went on to say, “[Isaac] often shares with me what he has learned from the Bible” and “is eager to teach the other children the things he learns about God.”
For a minimum of $25 a month, you can join in providing a scholarship for children such as Sarah. Her mother, overjoyed at the prospect of this education, recently said:
“I appreciate the opportunity Rafiki has given to my daughter to study for free at their school. I have no stable source of income, and it has been very hard for me to afford school fees. I thank God for the help Rafiki has rendered to us, and now my daughter can go to school and hope of achieving her dream of becoming a doctor in the future. God bless you all.”
While Rafiki schools equip students for successful career pathways, they go far beyond. Through classical Christian education, our children learn from a biblical worldview about God’s creation, his reign and rule throughout history, and their strategic roles in the future. Additionally, students daily study the Bible, receive two nutritious meals a day, and grow to be godly contributors to their families, communities, churches, and countries.
