Seeing the Fruits of Your Labors

Seeing the Fruits of Your Labors

The Rafiki Village Nigeria is currently going through exciting transitions. The missionaries and staff are working hard to teach, serve, and love the students of all ages on the Rafiki grounds.

The Nigeria Rafiki Institute of Classical Education (RICE) is currently awaiting approval by the Nigerian government as a recognized teachers college. Though it is in a waiting period, the program recently celebrated its second student to complete the three-year training course. Solomon is now working in the Rafiki School Nigeria and training teachers in mathematics in the RICE program.

The Village is also celebrating many graduates, including the first three Rafiki students—Joanna, Joy, and Lydia—to graduate from a four-year university. Nineteen senior-secondary students recently graduated from the Rafiki School, and many of them hope to attend university as well.

As the senior-secondary Rafiki children continue to graduate, the Village has begun remodeling its empty cottages into classrooms for the next generation of learners. The former cottages will be used for the preschool, kindergarten, and primary-school classes to enjoy. With added classrooms, the Village can serve the new preschool and kindergarten students it expects to receive in 2020. One hundred eight children under the age of six will soon grace the Rafiki Village Nigeria with their energetic, joyous presence and use these new classrooms.

Through every transition, from graduating adults in the teachers college to welcoming incoming kindergartners, Rafiki remains committed to Training Africans to Transform Africa for Christ.
