Yeen-Lan Lam

Serving In: Malawi
External ID: 094

Yeen-Lan Lam has been serving in Africa—in Kenya, Uganda, and now in Malawi—since 1997. She became a Christian at the age of thirteen and then began a life of service to God, leading adult Bible studies and becoming a Bible Study Fellowship discussion leader in 1990 before becoming a full-time missionary.

She felt called to leave her career with the government of Singapore and serve God in missions after reading Luke 9:23 while on a Holy Land trip to Israel in 1997. Before she entered the field, Yeen-Lan served in the Ministry of Trade & Industry and on the Singapore Economic Development Board. Before that, she was the chief administrator for the Singapore Academy of Medicine. She earned a bachelor's degree in economics and statistics from the National University of Singapore, graduating with honors.

Yeen-Lan currently serves at the Rafiki Village Malawi as the Village Administrator. Yeen-Lan has made her home on the African continent, and she is grateful to the Lord for continued opportunities to serve Him and taste His goodness and faithfulness there. She remains committed to helping those she works with know God and seek His truth.

But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together” (1 Corinthians 12:24-26).
