Patti Lafage

Serving In: Uganda
External ID: 207

Patti Lafage has been serving with the Rafiki Foundation in the Rafiki Village Uganda since 2010. She is currently the acting dean of the Rafiki Institute of Classical Education (RICE), the teachers college, and is the dean of the Rafiki Institute of Music, the teacher’s college music program. She is also the Village Finance Manager and Widows Program Coordinator.

Patti says that God led her directly to the Rafiki Foundation. Before she became a full-time missionary, she was a French and English teacher at the high school and college level. She was also involved in corporate consulting for twenty-four years. She received bachelor's and master's degrees in education from the University of Georgia; a master’s degree in French language, literature, and civilization; and training in computer science.

Patti first felt called to join Rafiki in its mission when God showed her that it was time, after being a mother and professional for years, to give her life to Him through missionary work. God planted this idea in her heart after she read a poster with information about Rafiki on it. God then graciously opened the doors that allowed her to begin serving with the foundation.

While living in Africa, Patti has learned how blessed she is. She is convinced that contentment is a choice that springs from a servant’s heart. She knows that true joy comes from being grateful for God’s gifts. Because of His loving kindness and continual provision, she can confidently say, “What a wonderful life God has given me!”
