My Name is

Winnie

Winnie

Child Village: Liberia
Child ID: CG069
Winnie came to live at the Rafiki Village Liberia in July 2013. Her past living conditions were not good. She lived in a house that was half torn down, with a rusty tin roof. More than twenty people lived in this dwelling, with no plumbing, indoor bathroom, or window glass. When an interview was conducted, the women were cooking on the small porch while Winnie played next to the hot coal pots. Winnie’s family is grateful that she has a new home and for the help of the Rafiki Foundation. Winnie wants to be a ballet dancer when she grows up. When she is not reading about ballet dancers, she can be found dancing around the hallways. She also likes to learn about solving problems in her math class. She has been practicing memorizing her math facts every week. She also likes going to P.E. and playing with her friends.
