Rafiki Foundation  |  Training Africans to Transform Africa for Christ

My Name is

Child Village: Uganda
Child ID: CB053
Nicholas's mother left him with his grandmother when he was three months old. His grandmother took him to a local babies' home. They tried to reunite Nicholas with his grandmother, but she could not care for him. Nicholas arrived at Rafiki Village Uganda in April 2006. He now lives in a loving and supportive environment. Nicholas has an interest in playing basketball and soccer with his Rafiki brothers. Nicholas and his classmates took a field trip to Kisanyi near Lake Kyoga as part of his geography class. He enjoyed learning about the physical and geographical features and how they affect economic activities around the barracks and trading centers. He fondly recalls climbing the hills and taking in the beauty of the lake on that trip. Nicholas is doing well in English, literature, history, and geography. He is working hard to improve in physics and math with the help of his teachers. He was fascinated by a physics experiment in order to prove that air exerts pressure. He filled a glass to the brim with water and then placed a piece of paper over the glass. When he turned the glass upside down, the paper remained intact, and he rejoiced over the success of his experiment.
