Mika

Child Village: Nigeria
Child ID: CC111
Mika and his brother Bulus had been in the care of their elderly grandparents since the death of their parents. The grandparents struggled to provide the basic needs for the boys. Social welfare reviewed the situation and determined the best place for the two brothers was in a stable home environment. The Rafiki Foundation was contacted and Mika and Bulus arrived at their new home at the Rafiki Village Nigeria in February 2010. Currently Mika is in grade 6. Mikah has made many improvements in school. He struggles in several subjects but is starting to become more interested and attentive in school. His strongest subjects are grammar, science, and Hausa: a local language. His favorite teachers are Jerry and Joseph. He says they have been encouraging to him and also can keep his attention. In art class, he is learning how make stamps.
