Mapalo
Mapalo’s grandmother was caring for ten of her grandchildren as well as four of her own children. The family survived by selling small quantities of merchandise on the street. Because she could not provide for her, Mapalo's grandmother appealed to Rafiki for help. Mapalo arrived at the Rafiki Village Zambia in March 2014. Her cousin, Carol, arrived one month later. When Mapalo came to Rafiki, she was malnourished and could not walk well. In just one month, she was walking confidently and gaining strength from good nutrition. Now, Mapalo is a helpful, resourceful young woman. She enjoys playing football (American soccer) with her friends at Rafiki. She has learned from the Rafiki Bible Study that God's love endures forever, and she is so thankful for that fact!
