John

Child Village: Kenya
Child ID: CD091
John’s mother abandoned him, and his father is unknown. He and his two siblings, Naomi and Michael, have been in the care of their blind grandmother. Before arriving at Rafiki, they lived in a one-room mud house and depended on well-wishers for food and other basic necessities. John and his two siblings arrived at the Rafiki Village Kenya in November 2009, and they quickly began to enjoy their new home with their Rafiki Mother and several cottage siblings. John takes his school work seriously and often discusses learning topics outside of class with his peers. He has especially enjoyed studying the book of Romans and Language Arts. His understanding of biblical doctrines is increasing, and he has grown in his teachable and joyful spirit; he rarely interrupts during class now.
