My Name is

Child Village: Liberia
Child ID: CG028
JanJay’s mother died after giving birth to her. Janjay’s father remarried and he was the breadwinner of the family. In February of 2010, he was riding on the top of a car and fell off, injuring his head. He died three days later at the hospital of a closed head injury. JanJay and her half-sister were sent to live with their aunt. She has not been able to care for the girls since she already has many family members living with her. Social welfare reviewed the situation and gave approval for the sisters to move to the Rafiki Village Liberia. Janjay is thriving in her new environment with nutritious food, a bed of her own and the opportunity to attend school. Janjay's favorite subject is English because she gets her best grades in this subject. However, she does not enjoy math. She hopes to be a doctor when she grows up because she wants to save Liberian lives. She would also like to be an artist. She believes that it is important to work hard in school so one can help others in the future.
