Henry

Child Village: Tanzania
Child ID: CH029
Henry's mother died giving birth to him and his father died shortly after his wife's death. Henry was cared for by his elderly grandmother but she has no land or income. Her only means of income is occasional work as a day laborer. Henry's situation was desperate. He arrived at his new home Rafiki Village Tanzania in 2011. Henry is learning that Grade 4 is a whole different level of education than what he found in Grade 3. He is a good reader but has to work hard on comprehension. Henry is taking part in an afternoon tutoring session this term for all the children in Grade 4. Nearly all the children in Grade 4 are from our orphanage, so there is the added distraction of being in school with all your friends. Henry will do well as he is bright and just needs a bit of focus.
