Rafiki Foundation  |  Training Africans to Transform Africa for Christ

My Name is

Child Village: Tanzania
Child ID: CH052
Doreen’s mother abandoned her in 2011 and Doreen’s father is unknown. She lived with her great grandmother, a widow in poor health who had very little in the way of resources to care for Doreen. The Rafiki Foundation was contacted in Doreen’s case and she arrived at Rafiki Village Tanzania in 2013. Doreen loves to sing and she always memorizes her memory verse for school. Doreen is quick to pray for others and listens carefully to the Bible story. Doreen has moved from Grade 2 into Grade 3 this year. She did well in Grade 2, but Grade 3 has been a big step for her. She is polite and cooperative in class but needs to put in extra effort to do well in her academic subjects. She needs to be reading every night to improve her reading skills, and the other subjects will quickly follow. Doreen has a good mind, and she can pull herself up academically if she chooses to work hard.
