Deborah lived happily with her parents until the year 2001 (she was three years old) when her parents and three siblings went missing during the Jos religious riots. They were all assumed dead. she lived with an uncle who was impoverished and had five children of his own. He was unable to properly care for this child and so social welfare, along with the uncle felt it was best she be sent to the Rafiki Village Nigeria. She came to live at the Village in 2004. Today Deborah is a student at Bingham University. Her class work is going well. She says being an English Literature major is both fun and exciting.
