Rafiki Foundation  |  Training Africans to Transform Africa for Christ

My Name is

Child Village: Ghana
Child ID: CA018
The cause of Akua parents’ deaths are unknown. However, the pastor who referred us to Akua and her sister, Adwoa, told us they died within six months of each other. The two girls were living with a woman who went to the family’s church and had agreed to act as guardian for them until other arrangements for their care could be found. They arrived at Rafiki Village Ghana in May 2002. Akua now likes to organize and get things done in an efficient and timely manner. Akua has now graduated from the Rafiki School and is attending a fashion design school. She is known for having strong faith in God. Akua is comforted and strengthened in knowing that God is always with her. "Peace Like a River" is one of Akua's favorite hymns because it speaks about a peace which Christians have even in the midst of trials.
