My Name is

Adwoa Mary

Adwoa Mary

Child Village: Ghana
Child ID: CA048

Adwoa’s mother was mentally ill and living on the streets. Due to her mental state, Adwoa's mother neglected her completely. Social welfare determined that it was in the best interest of Adwoa and her sister Beatrice to be placed in Rafiki’s care. Adwoa arrived at the Rafiki Village Ghana in 2003. Her sister arrived in November of the same year. Adwoa is a helpful young woman. She often asks her teachers if she can stay after school to help with chores, and she can frequently be seen tending garden in the afternoons. She has a heart for God and prays that He directs her path. Her favorite hymn is "Stand Up, Stand Up for Jesus" because it reminds her that Christians may be called to defend God's word at any time. She thinks she would like to become a missionary someday.
