My Name is
Maria
Maria
Maria’s mother died giving birth to her, and her father died in a car accident in 2008. She was living with an aunt and uncle who had children of their own and struggled to care for their own children and Maria; they asked the Rafiki Foundation for help. Maria arrived at the Rafiki Village Liberia in 2010. The family is grateful that Maria’s needs will be met and that she now has the opportunity to attend school. Maria hopes to be a nurse when she grows up, so naturally, she really enjoys everything she learns in her science classes. She believes that it is important to do well in school and pass her tests so she can go to college and pursue her dreams to help others. Through Bible class and the Rafiki Bible Study, she has learned to put on the whole armor of God and to encourage others in Christ.
